Recomendo a quem queira saber do assunto.
“The
problem is that money is not really a thing at all but a social technology: a
set of ideas and practices which organize what we produce and consume, and the
way we live together.”
“So
there is a paradox at the heart of money. It is a social technology which
depends on other people. Yet it is a social technology which isolates us from other
people, by trans forming the rich and varied ecology of human relationships
into mechanical an monotonous clockwork of financial relationships.”
“ money
is not the value for which Goods are exchanged, but the Value by which they are
Exchanged.”
“ money depends
on social trust, and credit in business is like loyalty in government, …, it is
a power which may grow, but cannot be constructed.”
“Monetary
stability will actually breed financial instability.”
“
current structure generates an unjust distribution of risks, where losses are socialized
– taxpayers are on hook for bail-outs – while gains are private – the banks and
their investors alone reap any profit.”
“ As a
result of our of our current, dire economic circumstances, we are relearning the
fact that monetary policy is intensely political; so in monetary policy, as in
all policy, the challenge is to govern well – not to pretend there is no need
for governing”
